Building Brighter Futures—Together
After years of collaboration, the Middle Tyger Community Center (MTCC) has officially broken ground on a new education center that will directly address one of our region’s most urgent needs: access to early childhood care and education. SEW-EURODRIVE is proud to support this effort as the project’s lead donor.
This $19 million facility will nearly quintuple the center’s capacity, from 60 children to 285, and will create space for wraparound support services for the community, all under one roof. It’s designed to serve children from six weeks old through 4K, with 17 classrooms, multiple playgrounds, and dedicated space for community partners.
The result? More families supported. More kids are set up for success. And a stronger community for everyone.
This project is a shining example of what can happen when public and private sectors come together to solve real problems. The education center is the product of a powerful partnership between MTCC, Spartanburg School District 5, the State of South Carolina, and companies like SEW-EURODRIVE.
For us, the connection is personal. Many of the families this center will serve are part of our extended SEW-EURODRIVE family. So, when the opportunity arose to help expand what’s already working, we didn’t hesitate.
“This is just a drop in the bucket of the need,” said Rainer Blickle, Vice President of SEW-EURODRIVE USA. “But my hope is this sparks something bigger than just this one building.”
This isn’t just about one building. It’s about creating a scalable model that other communities can learn from. The new center shows what’s possible when mission-driven nonprofits, school districts, state leaders, and businesses come together to meet people where they are.
Rainer put it best:
“Recognize what your community needs. Find an organization that knows what they’re doing. Go all in on it. Put your money where your heart is.”
We did just that—and we’re proud to stand behind a project that will have a lasting impact for generations.
For SEW-EURODRIVE, this is more than a milestone—it’s a commitment. To our team, to our community, and to doing work that matters.
To everyone at Middle Tyger Community Center: thank you for letting us be part of your vision. We’re all in—and we’re excited to watch this dream take shape as we work toward opening day in August 2026.
