In the city of Troy, Ohio, the essence of community is woven into everyday life. This sentiment was profoundly highlighted on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, when SEW-EURODRIVE honored three of its employees for their extraordinary acts of heroism. Jeff Godwin, Brad Flaute, and Jeff Curtis were recognized for their selfless and courageous actions that saved a life on the company’s property. This heartwarming story, originally reported by Carly Rose of the local publication, Miami Valley Today, is a testament to the character and integrity of SEW-EURODRIVE employees, both at work and in their community.

On June 4, an individual mowing around the retention pond on SEW-EURODRIVE’s Troy property found themselves in a dire situation when their mower flipped, pinning them underwater. It was during his lunch break that Jeff Godwin heard the cries for help and immediately sprang into action. His quick assessment and response, alongside the calm and collected Brad Flaute and the quick-thinking Jeff Curtis, were crucial in the successful rescue of the trapped individual.
